Notices for this week

Health and Safety Notice- If you feel you may be contagious with cold and flu symptoms, please refrain from attending church activities. All parishioners and encouraged to maintain good hygiene practices and respect others personal space

ALERT! : Car Park Safety! As a community, we need to be mindful of the increase in the number of electric and hybrid vehicles, leading to an increased risk of accidents occurring due to the lack of engine noise. When cars are backing out, drivers should be mindful to check for cross traffic behind them, meaning pedestrians as well as other vehicles. It has been brought to our attention that EV and Hybrid vehicles are silent, and due diligence should be observed by both drivers and pedestrians to avoid any unforeseen accidents

Singing Group Next meets: Monday, 3rd November, 3:30pm to 4:30pm Hope to see you there!

Christmas Nativity Play-
Next Rehearsal - Monday, 3rd of November, 2pm.

AMUA November Gathering on Monday, 24th November:
The branch will be gathering at Woorim Golf Club on Monday, 24th November at 11.30 for their Christmas Luncheon. Bring a friend as all are most welcome. Please contact Jan or Di or Carol Guymer if attending for booking numbers.

A quick note for Anne and Bill Dowd:
October 31st, Friday, Bill and Anne will have been married for 72 years. This is such an amazing feat. Married in St Andrews church, Vulture Street, on October 31st 1953, which also happened to be a Friday of that year, at 5.30pm. While it is difficult for both Anne and Bill to get to services these days. They are still a large part of this parish.
Please, join us in wishing them a happy Anniversary!

Art, Craft & Jewellery Fair:
As announced last Sunday, it is with regret, we had to cancel a major fundraiser for the parish. Only one ticket had been sold to the Art, Craft & Jewellery Fair opening night, which is the social fundraising evening of the fair, so a call had to be made, before any more preparations went ahead, to cancel the event. Artists had put a lot of work into preparing items for sale and in recruiting other artists to participate. Our volunteers who made jewellery and crafts are also disappointed. Without the opening night, it is not a fundraiser. Saturday becomes a market day, raising less than $500. Invited dignitaries and advertising have been cancelled, and the donated artworks will be returned to the artists or donated to charities.

Attention Craft Makers!!: If you are interested in providing any ideas for saleable craft to be included in future Church stalls, please bring a sample of your “craft/idea” to our next meeting. We will tentatively book our “Show and Tell” meeting, to be held on the first Monday of each month at 10am at a “to be advised coffee shop” Our aim is to have an “always ready” stockpile of craft for our next Church Stall or Jumble Sale.  Most importantly, enjoying fellowship together. Please contact Sue on 0416 339 972 if you have any queries or would like to attend”

Our next service will be on the 2nd of November:
If you would like to experience this intergenerational service. All are welcome. Hope to see you there and bring a friend!

EMPTY CHRISTMAS TREE – Since 2013, parishioners of St. Peter’s have generously donated over 1,000 gifts to Anglicare Caboolture for children in foster care in our region. This year, we will again be collecting gifts, which can be wrapped and tagged with the recommended child's age. You are also welcome to give unwrapped gifts. Our focus is on children aged 3 to 17 years. Please only give new gifts; no pre-loved items, as this might be the only present the child receives. Gifts can be left in the marked tub in the narthex. Gifts will be collected in late November.

Christmas Stall Fundraiser – Uniting Church Christmas Markets – 15th November:
BAKERS AND CRAFTERS NEEDED – The Parish Council has approved the running of a Christmas Stall on Saturday, 15th November, at Uniting Church. The stall will have a Christmas theme; however, we would be grateful for any types of cakes, biscuits, slices, or confectionery. If each baker could prepare just one item, it would greatly contribute to the success of the event. We are also seeking jams, chutneys, pickles, and preserves. A list of ingredients will be needed for each baked or cooked item. For crafts, we welcome any sewn, knitted, crocheted, cross-stitched items, cards, artwork, woodworking, or plants suitable as Christmas gifts. We need assistance to make this event a success, so if you have a talent and can donate an item, it would be very much appreciated. We are calling for volunteers to join the roster to run the stall.
Please get in touch with Lorelle Green for further details.

Please keep in mind : Sunday the 7th of December we have the annual Christmas Luncheon, One Service

An Update from Tim:  Soon the 34 Destitute Widows will be preparing their small fields for the coming rains. They will need to plant enough corn to feed themselves and the orphans for the next 12 months. That will be their only source of food. Without it they will starve as there is no government assistance. Each of them will need a 5kg bag of seed, and a 50kg bag of fertilizer, cost $125.

“What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering …”
 James 1:27

Thank you for your compassion as you show God’s love.

A note from Frankie:
Frankie is compiling next year's cleaning rosters for the church, Cooinda and brass cleaning.   As we now employ a professional cleaner to do the "heavy cleaning" the jobs we cover on our roster are very light, probably take about 30 mins.  It would be lovely if we saw some new faces on these rosters.  If you are able to give 30 minutes every six weeks or so, Frankie would be happy to hear from you.  frankiepark8@gmail.com
