Notices for this week

Health and Safety Notice- If you feel you may be contagious with cold and flu symptoms, please refrain from attending church activities. All parishioners and encouraged to maintain good hygiene practices and respect others personal space

ALERT! : Car Park Safety! As a community, we need to be mindful of the increase in the number of electric and hybrid vehicles, leading to an increased risk of accidents occurring due to the lack of engine noise. When cars are backing out, drivers should be mindful to check for cross traffic behind them, meaning pedestrians as well as other vehicles. It has been brought to our attention that EV and Hybrid vehicles are silent, and due diligence should be observed by both drivers and pedestrians to avoid any unforeseen accidents

Please note those who intend to be nominated for a new position on the Parish Council. The following advice was given in the October Diocesan Monthly Memorandum:

'Safe Ministry Checks must be completed prior to appointment to a role. The previous guideline said completion was within 21 days. This practice is inconsistent with using the SM Check as a suitability tool. In accordance with the Safe Ministry to Children Canon, Safe Ministry Checks must be completed prior to appointment.'

This therefore means that all prospective members must complete these requirements for acceptance to the council before the AGM Meeting on 22nd of February 2026 at 10 AM.

A note from Frankie:
World Day of Prayer service for Bribie this year is on Friday 6th March, it will be held at the Uniting Church commencing at 2.00pm.
This function comes around really quickly, and we are looking to raise awareness in our congregation. The country that has prepared this year's service is Nigeria; it is an opportunity to learn about life in the featured country from the perspective of the Christian women of that country and to support them in prayer for their particular needs.
Our church will be hosting the service next year. Next year. This being the 100th anniversary of the formation of World Day of Prayer. It would be great if there were good support from our congregation. This hopefully will encourage more people to attend.
Frankie will be scouting for two readers for this year, which will make three in total.  At present, she has no running mate and asks that anyone who would be interested in standing with her to learn the ropes, assist next year, and then take up the mantle as our representative for World Day of Prayer for St. Peter's after 2027.
