Updated message from Debbie: In conjunction with the Christmas Stall on the 1st December, we have a number of donations to make up our raffle. Tickets will be available from this Sunday, 24th November after both services. Tickets are 3 for $5 and the prizes are -
1st prize - Mimco rose gold bracelet
2nd prize - a pair of gold drop earrings
3rd prize - a gift basket
4th prize - a decorative sign
A Christmas Stall will be run on Sunday 1st December following the combined 10.00am service and before the Parish Christmas Lunch. The stall will have a Christmas theme with Christmas goodies and craft available for sale. To make this stall a success we do need keen bakers and craft makers to assist in donating their talents. We would be grateful of any types of cakes, biscuits, slices or confectionary. If each baker could make just one item, it would go towards making the event a success. We are also needing jams, chutneys, pickles and preserves. A list of ingredients will be required for each baked and cooked item. For craft we would love any sewn, knitted, crotched, cross-stitched items, cards, decorations, artwork, woodwork, etc. which would be suitable for Christmas gifts. We will also be having a raffle with tickets available now. We need help to make this work so if you have a talent and can donate an item it would be greatly appreciated. For more information please contact Debbie Eustace 0413 027 349 or Lorraine James 0427 120 378.
Tickets need to be purchased by this coming Sunday
EMPTY CHRISTMAS TREE – Since 2013 parishioners of St. Peter’s have very generously given over 1,000 gifts to Anglicare Caboolture for children in foster care in our region. This year we will again be collecting gifts which can be wrapped with a tag stating the recommended child age for the gift. You are welcome to give gifts unwrapped. We will be focussing on children aged from 3 – 17 years. Could I please request that only new gifts be given, no pre-loved, as this may be the only present the child will receive. Until the Christmas Tree goes up on Advent Sunday (1st December), gifts may be left in the marked tub in the narthex.
BIVCHAI- Bribie Island community transport is now trialling ON ISLAND transport for customers to get to doctors/ medical appointments. If this is supported in the community, it will become long-term. If you are not a current customer and if eligible, don't hesitate to get in touch with My Aged Care 1800 200 622 to register with the Commonwealth Home Support Programme Service formally. For further service details, please get in touch with Bribie Home Assist - Transport on 07 3408 0111.
Hope25 is an opportunity for us to share the hope that we have in Jesus. It is an intentional season of sharing hope in Jesus for every parish and community in the Anglican Church of Australia. The dates will be Easter Day (April 20) to Pentecost Sunday (June 8) 2025.
Each parish is invited to prayerfully commit to doing (at least) one new activity to share the hope that we have in Jesus during this season. Every parish is encouraged to form a parish Hope25 team who will receive step by step encouragement via the monthly Hope25 email list.
For more information, see the Hope25 website, where you can sign up for the email list: https://www.hope25.com.au/
Cleaning Rosters for next year - From Frankie
We seriously need a few more cleaners to add to our teams. Particular needs are a person to join Barbara Hyam in cleaning Cooinda.
One or two more people to join the "spot cleaning team" for the church.
One more brass cleaner would also be appreciated.
I would be delighted to hear from anyone who feels they may serve our community and The Lord in this way. They may contact me on 0407544259. Frankie Park
Sunday Roster – There are vacancies in the following duties for Sunday Services, both 7.30 am and 9.30 am. AV Operators, Welcomers, Sidespersons and Intercessors are needed. Interested persons are asked to contact Margaret Peterson on 5497 6978.
Name Badges—If you would like a new name badge, there is a list in the narthex. Please print your name clearly on the list. The cost is $12 per badge, which can be paid when received. Badges will be ordered at the beginning of the month.
Donations - There is a box of envelopes in the narthex (with a pen) for use by anyone wishing to give money in the giving box for specific reasons e.g. Retiring Collections, payment for attending a function, purchase of items such as calendars, etc. Please, please write on the envelope what the money is for, your name and the amount. This will greatly assist the counters to distribute the funds to the correct account.
