Life-giving God, who sent your Son Jesus to proclaim your kingdom and to teach with authority: anoint us with your Spirit, that we too may bring good news to the poor, bind up the broken-hearted, and proclaim liberty to the captive; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Last Service and Farwell: Letting all know that Joan Norton will be leaving us to be with family in Chinchilla shortly. A long standing member of this parish who has been involved in leading the Book Club and many other activities. Her last service with us will be on Wednesday the 29/01/2025 at 10am come and share in fellowship with her and say your good byes

Our latest upcoming movie night event:
Start the New Year off enjoying an evening at the movies to see "Maria", the story of Maria Callas, the world's greatest opera singer, living the last days of her life in 1970's Paris, as she confronts her identity and life. The movie stars Angelina Jolie.
This fundraising event will be held on Thursday 30th January at Bribie Cinemas. Matinee session will be 7pm with seating from 6.30pm.

Parish AGM - The Parish Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 25th  February.  Nominations are called for the positions of Churchwarden, Parish Nominator, Synod Representative and Parish Councillor and these nominations need to be submitted in the box in the narthex by Sunday 18th February.  Anyone over the age of 75 who wishes to nominate for the position of Churchwarden, Parish Nominator and Synod Representative should submit their nomination by email to Rev Gary (gary.tognola@anglicanchurchsq.org.au) prior to the next Parish Council meeting on Wednesday 17 January for endorsement by Parish Council

AGM Reports – Any groups wishing to submit reports for the AGM Booklet are welcome to do so.  These reports must be sent to the office (bribieisland@anglicanchurchsq.org.au) no later than Monday 10th February

BIVCHAI- Bribie Island community transport is now trialing  ON ISLAND transport for customers to get to doctors/medical appointments. If this is supported in the community, it will  become long-term. If you are not a current customer and if eligible, don't hesitate to get in touch with My Aged Care 1800 200 622 to register with the Commonwealth Home Support Programme Service formally. Hope25 is an opportunity for us to share the hope that we have in Jesus. It is an intentional season of sharing hope in Jesus for every parish and community in the Anglican Church of Australia. The dates will be Easter Day (April 20) to Pentecost Sunday (June 8) 2025. 

Each parish is invited to prayerfully commit to doing (at least) one new activity to share the hope that we have in Jesus during this season. Every parish is encouraged to form a parish Hope25 team who will receive step by step encouragement via the monthly Hope25 email list.

Cleaning Rosters - From Frankie. Offers of help with cleaning duties are always welcome and if anyone wishes to volunteer in this capacity, I would welcome a phone call from them. They may contact me on 0407544259. Frankie Park 

Sunday Roster – There are vacancies in the following duties that are always in need of being filled. Sunday Services, both 7.30 am and 9.30 am.  AV Operators, Welcomers, Sidepersons and Intercessors are needed.  Interested persons are asked to contact Margaret Peterson on 5497 6978. 

Name Badges—If you would like a new name badge, there is a list in the narthex. Please print your name clearly on the list. The cost is $12 per badge, which can be paid when received. Badges will be ordered at the beginning of the month. 

Donations - There is a box of envelopes in the narthex (with a pen) for use by anyone wishing to give money in the giving box for specific reasons e.g. Retiring Collections, payment for attending a function, purchase of items such as calendars, etc.  Please, please write on the envelope what the money is for, your name and the amount.  This will greatly assist the counters to distribute the funds to the correct account.
